Aimee's Story
Aimee (Bruckner) Stevland spent most of her design career in the entertainment industry managing creative teams in music merchandising, product development, and video game partnership marketing. Her work has contributed to successful campaigns for world-class brands like Electronic Arts and Coca-Cola, as well as music legends like Mariah Carey, Usher, The Beatles, and The Doors.
Years ago, Aimee's professional design career nearly came to an end when a neurological disorder called focal dystonia left her unable to use her dominant hand. Years of painful struggle led her to adapt to her physical limitations, retraining her body, brain, and creative process, resulting in her transition to digital art.
Music has been a powerful healing force, and Aimee especially enjoys creating portraits of music icons. She holds the unique distinction of creating the largest tribute of original Janet Jackson illustrations, with an active fanbase spanning over 25 years.
In this limited podcast series, Aimee takes the lid off her curiosity and her own life experiences to explore the stories of the interesting and talented people she’s met along the way. Discover some real-life "influencers" as an alternative to the algorithm of artificial fame.
Come to hear Aimee’s weird midwestern accent, stay for the stories and maybe a little inspiration.
